Hi, my name is Manu Nimmala! I recently in the Engineering Mechanics program, currently within the Mechanical Engineering Department at Virginia Tech. I am fortunate to be co-advised by Dr. Shane Ross (Ross Dynamics Lab) and Dr. Hosein Foroutan (AIRFlowS Lab). My research is focused on understanding the transport of pollen through the atmosphere in varying wind conditions.

- December 2025: Successfully DEFENDED my thesis and have graduated!!!
- December 2025: So honored to recieve the Liviu Librescu Memorial Fellowship. This fellowship award is given to students with outstanding academic records and demonstration of strong leadership potential and commitment to professional or community service.
- August 2025: I got married to my boyfriend/bestfriend of six years :D <3

- September 2024: Paper modeling pollen dispersal in every county in the US published in Scientific Reports, available here: Cannabis pollen dispersal across the United States. This paper is featured in Journal Top 100 of 2024 collection and the Earth, Environment and Ecology Top 100 of 2024 collection, listed within the top 25 most-downloaded papers of 2024 for both.
